About Graduation 2026
On Saturday, September 26, commencing at 6:00 p.m., the Norman Manley Law School community will come together to celebrate the Class of 2026 at the 2026 Graduation Ceremony, which will be held at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, Jamaica College.
The ceremony will include the presentation of graduates, awards and prizes, addresses from the Guest Speaker and Class Speaker, and the formal introduction of the NMLS Alumni Membership Card, connecting the graduating Class of 2026 with generations of NMLS alumni.
For family, friends, alumni and members of the wider community unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be streamed live above from 6:00 p.m. Jamaica time.
Guest Speaker
The Hon. Madam Justice Margaret Ramsay-Hale
Chief Justice of the Cayman Islands
Chief Justice Margaret Ramsay-Hale is an alumna of the Norman Manley Law School, where she completed her professional legal training before being called to the Jamaican Bar in 1991.
In 2011, she became the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court of the Turks and Caicos Islands and, three years later, the first woman to serve as that jurisdiction’s Chief Justice. She returned to the Cayman Islands judiciary in 2020 and, in 2022, became the first woman appointed Chief Justice of the Cayman Islands.
Thirty-five accomplished years after completing her professional legal training at NMLS, she returns as Guest Speaker for Graduation 2026. Her address to the Class of 2026 is titled “Lessons I Learned After Law School.

Ms Emily Williams
Class of 2026
Selected by her peers to represent the Class of 2026, Ms Emily Williams has maintained during her scholastic career an enviable record of academic achievement, student leadership, advocacy and service.
Before NMLS, Emily held several youth leadership roles, including Junior Councillor for the Parish of St James, National Youth Parliamentarian for Cornwall County and Guild Vice-President at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
At NMLS, she continued that involvement alongside her studies, serving as Public Relations Officer for the Children’s Outreach Programme and as Captain of the winning 2026 Margaret Forte Moot Team. She is also a multiple scholarship recipient.

Ms Weekes will welcome the graduating class and guests on behalf of the Council of Legal Education and will introduce the Graduation Guest Speaker.
Dr Christopher Malcolm
Principal, Norman Manley Law School
Dr Malcolm will present the Principal’s Report as the School marks the achievements of the Class of 2026 and another year in the life of NMLS.
Mr Carlando Francis
Registrar, Norman Manley Law School
Mr Francis will lead the presentation of graduates, awards and prizes during the ceremony.
