Mr. Davis started his career at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions where he attained the rank of acting Crown Counsel before going on to join the law firm Myers, Fletcher and Gordon. While at Myers, Fletcher and Gordon his focus was on the practice of civil and criminal litigation. He left Myers, Fletcher and Gordon to go into private practice with a sole focus on criminal and civil litigation.
Mr. Davis was formerly a member of the Criminal Practice and Procedure, Civil Practice and Procedure, and Continuing Legal Education sub-committees of the Jamaica Bar Association. He is presently a member of the CLPD Accreditation Committee which awards credits to presentations as part of the continuing legal education development programme in Jamaica.
Mr. Davis has presented in the past at seminars of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and also the Jamaica Bar Association and the General Legal Council seminars. He has also made submissions to Parliament on Bills in relation to criminal justice issues in Jamaica.
Mr. Davis joined the Norman Manley Law School as a full-time tutor in August 2000. Prior to that he was an associate tutor at the school since 1997. Since becoming a full-time tutor, he has been granted tenure and has been promoted to the post of Senior Tutor II based on his contribution to the school. He has been the Course Director for the Law of Evidence course since 1998. He was, until this academic year, the Course Director for the Year II Advocacy course which requires second year students to participate in two mock trials. He has also been the lead coach of the law school’s team since 2000 for an annual regional trial advocacy competition,called the Margaret Forte Inter-Schools Trial Advocacy competition. That competitioninvolves all three Council of Legal Education law schools.
Mr. Davis has two daughters. He enjoys swimming, playing tennis and creative writing.
