Year I students are required to attend the scheduled seminars and lectures and to satisfactorily complete the course of training. 10. LEGAL AID CLINIC All Year II students are required to attend the Legal Aid Clinic and participate in the delivery of the services offered to the clients and other members of the public. Students will be rostered to attend the Clinic at least one day per week for a minimum of two hours. Students will be assigned to clients and will be given an Interim Assessment of the work done by them on each file at the end of the first Term and a Final Assessment before the commencement of their final written examinations. Students whose participation in the work of the Clinic is deemed unsatisfactory will not be eligible for the award of the Legal Education Certificate (LEC). Students should pay careful attention to PART VI (Rules 50-53) and Schedule II of the Regulations, which outline their duties at the Clinic. 11. COURT ATTENDANCE AND REPORTS Students will be provided with a list of the courts they should attend during Year I of the programme of study. Guidelines will also be issued on the reports to be produced and submitted to the Senior Tutor for assessment. The deadline for handing in completed Court Attendance Reports for students entering the programme in the academic year 2020-2021is Friday, September 24, 2021, no later than 3:00 p.m. 12. ASSESSMENT OF COURSES AND EXAMINATION A schedule outlining the issue and submission dates of assignments for subjects assessed by way of assignment, will be placed on the Notice Board and on TWEN. You will also receive a copy in your registration package. To pass a subject, a student must obtain a pass grade in both the assignment component (where applicable) and the written examination. A computation sheet of the grades will be made available to you on registration. This is also posted on TWEN.
