“Etched in History, Anchored in Legal Education, Serving a Region” 11 School on being notified by the Principal: (a) that the Principal is not satisfied that the student’s attendance at the courses of the School has been satisfactory; or (b) that the utilization by the student of the available opportunities for practical professional training and experience has been unsatisfactory”. The record of attendance by students at lectures, tutorials, seminars and at the Legal Aid Clinic will be kept and monitored by the school, whether by personal attendance, electronically or otherwise. Every Student must satisfy the current policy which requires not less than 75% attendance ,whether personally, electronically or otherwise at lectures, tutorials, seminars and at the Legal Aid Clinic. Where a student’s attendance by the end of Term I raises concerns as to his/her ability to satisfy the attendance requirements, a letter will be issued to the student in January of Term II by the Senior Tutor. A final assessment of a student’s attendance will be made at the end of Term II, with a view to determining whether a student is in breach of the attendance policy and whether admission to the examinations will be granted. 15. ABSENCE (i) Absence from class, for whatever reason, must be reported to the Registrar within two days of the commencement of the period of absence. (ii) During term time, no student is to leave the country without the express permission of the Principal. A written request to leave the jurisdiction must be completed prior to departure. An application form for permission is available in the Registry and can be downloaded from TWEN. (iii) Pursuant to Regulation 20, a registered student may decide to apply for leave of absence/withdrawal for the academic year. The first step requires the student to consult with the Senior Tutor.
