“Etched in History, Anchored in Legal Education, Serving a Region” 9 12.2.2 Submission of Assignments after the Due Time and Date: A letter, directed to the Senior Tutor, must be submitted to the Office of the Senior Tutor, seeking permission to submit the assignment for assessment after the deadline. PLEASE NOTE THAT DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH THE COURSE DIRECTOR OR A TUTOR IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. The application for permission must state clearly the reason(s) for failing to meet the deadline for submitting the assignment, or to fully satisfy the submission process as outlined at 12.2. The application must be accompanied by the assignment to be submitted. Notwithstanding any permission granted by the Senior Tutor or her nominee, to accept an assignment for assessment after the deadline for submission, and, notwithstanding any grade awarded by the Examiners of the assignment, please note that the final grade awarded is within the sole authority of the Examination Committee to determine . 13. EXAMINATIONS Students whose fees have not been paid will not be allowed to sit examinations, unless appropriate arrangements are made with the Principal. The examination papers are set to test the aptitude and ability of students to deal with matters which are likely to arise in practice. 14. GUIDANCE ON APPLICATIONS FOR REVIEW PURSUANT TO REGULATION 45 The procedure for students to apply to review assignments and examination grades is set out in Regulation 45 of the Council of Legal Education Professional Law Schools Regulation 2016. Regulation 45 (6B) provides that a student who has received a D grade shall be entitled to a review without stating reasons in the application. While the word review and remark tend to be used interchangeably by institutions, the procedure in this Regulation is in essence an
